For now, there are two main types of power lithium batteries: lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium. Lithium iron phosphate is longer than life and safety, while ternary lithium is longer than low-temperature performance and unit battery capacity.

As for battery life, the service life of lithium-ion batteries on ordinary electronic products is about 5 to 20 years, with an average of 8 years. However, with the current level of technology, the service life of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles is only about 3-5 years.

The reason why the battery life of electric vehicles is short is nothing more than the influence of the working environment and the large-scale charge and discharge. The cycle number of ternary lithium is about 500 to 1000 times, and that of lithium iron phosphate is about 2000 times;

Taking the minimum 500 times as an example, Chery EQ has a battery life of 200 kilometers, and the comprehensive operating condition is 160 kilometers, 500X160=80,000. That is to say, when Chery EQ actually travels about 80,000 kilometers, the battery The capacity will decay to 80% of the original; if calculated according to 2000 times of lithium iron phosphate, it is about 320,000 kilometers, and if the battery life is 400 kilometers, it is 640,000 kilometers.

If the battery capacity on an electric vehicle decays below 80% of the initial capacity, the driving range of the electric vehicle will be significantly reduced. When the battery capacity decays below 70%, the battery must be replaced.

For many current pure electric vehicles, the cost of the battery accounts for about 40% of the total cost of the car, that is to say, replacing the battery is equivalent to replacing a small car.
